I am slightly short sighted and have astigmatism. Technically I should wear glasses under my goggles or at least contact lenses. Since I could never commit to contact lenses - I simply can not get used to the idea to stick stuff into my eye - I usually flew without glasses in my boxed goggles.
Now that I committed to some proper FPV goggles - the Skyzone Sky03O I decided to get some proper diopters for those. I mean if you commit to proper goggles, then why not simply go the extra mile to get the most out of them? And with those goggles, there is obviously no way to fit regular glasses inside.

Betaflight 4.1 introduces a new feature - VTX tables. If you can not switch channels or output power on your SmartAudio or IRC Tramp enabled video transmitter out of the box, VTX tables are probably the reason.
Instead of being pre-configured as in the previous Betaflight versions the user now has to configure the frequency tables themselves. It might at first seem like a hassle but it also has some benefits.

It seems we will soon have a new battery connector option for 1S builds. BetaFPV is going to release a new battery connector on the 11th of November. It will be called BT2.0 and aims to replace PH2.0 connectors on 1S brushless whoops.
The PH2.0 connector is often a bottle-neck on this small, 1S builds, especially when the PH2.0 connector does not have solid pins. This can limit the current that is transferred from the battery to the motors quite severely.

The Skyzone SKY03O FPV goggles are my first non boxed, FPV goggles. So I am not going to compare it to Fatshark’s HDO’s or any other goggle of that style for that matter.
This is just a plain review of these goggles and what someone switching from boxed goggles might expect. I have been rocking boxed goggles for almost three years. First it was a set of DIY 3D printed ones, then I upgraded to the Quantum V2 and that is what I have been stuck with for the past two years.

In this article I want to briefly discuss how you can upgrade the firmware on your SKY03O goggles. I always like to make sure to have the latest and greatest firmware on all my devices from the get go.
This procedure also works the same way for the SKY03 and SKY03S goggles - just make sure to download the appropriate firmware for your model.

BetaFPV released a couple new products. Most of you might already heard about their toothpick board, that they developed in cooperation with Bob Roogie (KababFPV). And their super light weight 1S AIO flight-controller - which I am sure a lot of us will use in their winter season builds.
But that is not all - today another batch of products has been released.

Foxeer was kind enough to send me one of their new Predator Nano FPV cams. The Predator Nano is a low latency, feature packed, small FPV camera.
The Nano form-factor is 14mm wide and 14mm high and thus a perfect size for your larger brushless whoops - I would recommend to use the Nano form factor on 2S builds, 75mm and up - definitely not something for your super light 1S build. But it might be an alternative for your cuurrent Micro or even full sized FPV cam.

After the NamelessRC AIO 412T the BetaFPV Toothpick F4 AIO is the second flight-controller that was developed especially with toothpick sized builds in mind - small form factor, single, feature packed board.
Same as with the NamelessRC flight-controller, Bob Roogie (KababFPV) also helped designing this one. This is also the reason why these boards are so similar to each other - they even have the same build target.
In this article I will show you some details about this flight-controller and maybe help you decide if this one is the right one for your next build.

After releasing their first set of AIO flight-controllers, NamelessRC now released a nano sized video transmitter, the Nano400. The form factor of this VTX is very similar to the HGLRC nano, the Eachine nano or the TBS Unify Pro Nano - smaller than the nail on your thumb.
The NamelessRC Nano400 video transmitter weighs in at 1.8g with wires, antenna and heatshrink. The PCB itself weighs in at just 0.75g and the antenna at 0.55g. The VTX dimensions are 12.4mm by 12.4mm and 3.5mm at the highest spot - the antenna connector. The VTX has a u.FL connector as they all do in this form factor and comes with a linear antenna - you can change this to a circular polarized if you prefer.
